Wrote this one based on a beautiful dream I had while on vacation a few years ago.
Later incorporated those writings into a Bryan Adams-style 80s pop song on my Eastman SB59v, which was transitioned into a shoegaze aesthetic for this recording, equal parts Slowdive & My Bloody Valentine, with hues of the Cocteau Twins, the Cure, & Death Cab for Cutie for good measure.
So dial those fuzz & reverb pedals to 11 & enjoy some wall-of-soundscaping.
lyrics
Scene 1
Weighted by an empty pool
Early morning where it's nice & cool, & then...
Confessions of a fading love
While the moon & sun debate who's up, so what?
Her
"For no particular reason
Just needing change with the turn of the season
For no particular reason
Just needing change..."
"Come & see me, maybe when the summer ends..."
Scene 2
We sat there as the daylight burned
a purple sky to pastel turned
Entangled like a sparrow's nest
On a wind carrying our end
Her
"For no particular reason
Just needing change with the turn of the season
For no particular reason
Just needing change..."
"Come & see me, maybe when the summer ends..."
Him
"Maybe I'll see you around, sometime..."
